We Follow The Example Of Our Men;

When most people hear of the military, they think: soldier.
it actually tends to bother me about people who aren't really affiliated with the military, they tend to call every branch: Soldier. i've even seen people who are affiliated with the military, that do that too! but its not right! theres more than just a soldier. you call a Marine a soldier and see what he says to you. go ahead, try it.

anyway, sometimes the family can go on forgotten, but then when the family is taken into consideration, the fiances and the girlfriends are typically always forgotten. if a documentary is going on or a news report or something, its always about the wives. but theres the fiances and the girlfriends. everything about the wives is usually about how hard they have it. being alone all the time, families to raise, yada yadaa yada, we know the story. well, what about the fiances? what about the girlfriends? the fiances have a future of commitment, they have a tiny bit of recognition with the Corps, or the military (depending on the branch, but i'm a little biased, i'll be mentioning the Corps)
as a girlfriend, i know what its like to be a girlfriend of someone in the military. there is absolutely NO recognition at all to the girlfriends from the Corps, only to those who are legally with a marine (or servicemen, depending on branch) but the girlfriends, the girlfriends, theres no promise of commitment there. leaving is as easy as coming. fiances are the same, its just as easy to go than it was to come, theres still no legal forms to fill out or any extra stuff to take care of. just to tell them to cancel the wedding. i mean, this is all based on those who back out. of course theres those good guys too.

those to whom i'm refering to, the ones who are often refered to as the knights in shining armor. my marine, he is my marine in dress blues as i typically refer to it as. they have a code of shilvery and everything. they are the "Knight in shining armor" that every little girl dreams of.

little girls always want that knight but sometimes they just never get that guy. me, i've never believed in fairy tales, but i got that knight. i got the gentlemen. i got the traditional southern boy most girls want. i got that knight in armor girls can only dream of. but what girls dont realize, they'll make mistakes. they arent perfect, but they are the best you can get. i'm sure this applys to other branches as well, but its only for those exceptional guys. there are some guys who give branches a tough name, like the marines for example, they're notorious for being known as cheaters and players and guys who can't keep commitments because their trained to be tough and emotionless.

but the girls, we follow the example of our men. marine girls, we toughen up and we do it quick. marines (& other branches) its one big brotherhood. we follow their example and all us girlfriends and fiances and wives, we're one big sisterhood. the biggest sisterhood in the world.

i wouldn't trade them for anything in the world<3
